Is any of you Jewish/knows how synagogue service works? I'm writing a fic and I need to know if Kaddish is routinely read, or if you can ask for it to be included, and if so, when? Specifically, this is the first anniversary of a death of a family member (the character in question is making the effort to commemorate the occasion, but he's not overly religious - it's not his temple, merely a temple that's nearest to where he currently is).
