The crib of civilisation?

Returned to the civilised world, at last! *huggles lappie* So good to be back.
Holidays were nice. A row or five, almost killed one another, you know, just another family holiday. Am, as usual after a period of forced baking, at least three shades of tan: legs and arms, which always brown first, shorts (always the damn shorts!!), one-piece swimming suit and finally the two-piece swimming suit, which I bought two weeks ago. A miracle it was too, finding a two-piece for me. Lol.
Let me inform anyone who might have any doubts: Greece in August is HOT. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. 40 degrees is the norm, apparently.
If they told you it was the crib of civilisation, they were probably right. If I had a climate like theirs, I'd do my best to invent air-con to live through the summer. x___X
Also? Kite-surfers are a bunch of crazy bastards, stay away from them.
I, of course, didn't manage to read as much as I wanted over the summer, but I did read American Gods (WOOOOHOOOO. So damn good), short stories by Kurt Vonnegut and Frederick Forsyth - both awesome. What really had me squealing was Cat's Cradle, by the former. A story of human stupidity, indeed. What else was there? Some random Harlequin (was bored, was on a train, finished my book already), Carpe Jugulum and Masquerade both by TP. Re-read Monstrous Regiment, which still sends shivers down my spine. Oh, and The World According to Clarkson - a great laugh.
Whew. *glomps Flist* What did I miss?
