You know why this is funny (in the ironic sort of way >_>)? I just read the volume where she is (where we have all the mutual attraction and kiss and then X.x) today. Because volume 8 finally came out and I finally got around to reading it. I actually quite liked her (even if it still is Sanzo/Goku forevah!) Sanzo as a father figure. >.< So dosen't work.

XD I haven't actually read the whole thing yet, not wholly. But I do like her, she's cute, she's funny and she obviously fancies Goku, and she makes him all flustered because she kind of is the first person to notice him, as a guy.

That doesn't change the fact that I think Goku saying Sanzo is his father figure was an effect of him not being around actual fathers much and not having the power of expression to voice it more accurately.

I think Minekura is getting better at depicting female characters; I've never really cared for Kanan, Lirin and Yaone, but lately I've completely fallen for the police gal from Bus Gamer, and Pippi. (Kanzeon Bosatsu doesn't count XD)

ZOMGHAET towards otherwise really nice and well-constructed characters, imaginary threats or no, is always driving me up the wall. All the more reason to ♥ Pippi.

It is pretty amusing, we finally got a decent female character in Saiyuki and everyone hates her because she is obviously heterosexual. I <3 Pippi. I wonder if I'd like her as much if she actually had a name and had less ZOMGHATE hype around her, but what can you do. XD
