Link day of random.
May. 19th, 2011 10:03 pmIn the case of some people I think marijuana should not only be legalised, it should be forcibly administered to some people, prior to their admission to the internet. Fanfiction is not serious business. Fanfiction is fun. Some people are crap at it (yea, verily, much as it pains me, as I have lost my ability to be entertained by fics written by twelve year olds, a fact I mourn). Posting long, screechy unposted-reviews in your LJ about how one canon is superior to others and a pairing of d00m never happened ZOMG, dude. Chill the fuck out.
Yes, this is vaguely Narnia related (the pairing of d00m, for the inquisitive minds, is Susan/Caspian). XD I'll be the first to admit the movies had issues (understatement), though on the other hand some things they did better (or at least more interestingly) than the books (like the lack of magic amnesia dust and the issues the kids had adjusting to being children again).
The biggest issue with the movies, overall, is that the writers read the books, fixated on the things Lewis takes the time to point out as dumb, and put them in the script. Yeah, I don't know either.
Also? If Horse and His Boy ever gets made more Skandar Keynes as Edmund is a strong possibility - the kid's 20 now, by the time the movie rolls around he'd be the right age to play adult Edmund. :D
I don't know how many of you follow Wapsi Square, which I heartily recommend by the way, but woah, the author pulled an absolutely epic WHAM these last few days. The comic starts slow, but the last few years it's been an urban fantasy with sphinxes, ends of the world and such. It's one of my favourites. :)
This song is from the one of the two or three games I have played in my life. I loved that game. It's absolutely awesome, very weird and apparently an affectionate parody of the Bible, which would explain a lot about my brain.
So, Bruno Mars? I remain convinced he is a twelve year old girl. Or at least one writes his songs.
Contacted the professor about summer internship. Apparently, I am to scout the site of the institute for clinical and experimental medicine and see what catches my eye, then he'll talk to the head. Choices so far include pharmaconeurochemistry, pathoneurochemistry and neurotoxicology. Excuse me, I will go sit in the corner and nerdgasm for a while.
