Books read: Ender's Game, by Orson Scott Card. It was a little hard to get into, but I enjoyed it considerably all the same. <3

... I am currently in the process of reading at least three other books. I fail at finishing.

Notice: I will be away for the next two weeks. Another camp counsellor gig. I wonder how will this one go, considering I will have teenagers in my care. *sigh*

Okay, whine.

Tomorrow night I'm going to the staff meeting, which involves an all-night journey. Which poses problem #1: all the laying down places were sold out. Had to get a regular ticket (our railway. There's no beating it). Got a first class, which ought to give me a chance for a seat. Nothing certain, but it might help. Which leaves me with problem #2: I will be arriving in Gdansk around 8 am. Correction: 9 am. Okay, this is marginally better, but still leaves me with about two hours in a city I barely know, on a religious holiday.

Please let McDonald's be open.

Problem #3: I need an UFO-themed costume. Stat. Don't ask.

Problem #4: I'm freaking out. Just a little. Don't mind me.

Problem #5: the two examy-thingies on Monday and Tuesday. Yay.

On a more positive note, I read Washington Square, which is a book, which means I am reading! Recording the fact to be remembered. My cynical soul says he wanted her for the money. There was a moment of doubt, but overall, I'm gonna say money.

I wonder if we have inflatable mattresses.

... Apparently I got the job. It remains to be seen which camp I'll be going to, exactly (the agency offers a wide selection, Harry Potter, sport, RPG, LARPG, painting, photo...), but I have been informed I will be going. o.O Excuse me while I panic.

Writing is going slow, but it is going and it is headed to a clear ending, so I remain hopeful. ^______^

Aaaaand book report (yes, I know, I suck): Emperor: Downfall of an Autocrat by Ryszard Kapuscinski - a report on the fall of Haile Selassie's regime in Ethiopia. Scary, but reads very well.

Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett - it was awesome. It was. Tiffany, Nac Mac Feegles, Granny Weatherwax and all. <3 Much love for the master. Someone remind me to draw Tiffany and the wintersmith sometime. :)

Snowy!!

Today was the most perfect skiing day. :) Yesterday it was snowing like mad (and it was warm snow was wet and yucky), so we only managed to stay on the slopes for a short while. But today there was heaps of fresh snow, sunny, but rather cold, so it was all nice and fluffy. Yay! Of course we forgot the camera, so no pretty sparkly snowy pictures. :( Generally, it's a little warm for skiing, so today was doubly awesome. ^_____^

Read Emma by Jane Austen. Emma annoyed the hell out of me. I wanted to strangle her, badly. Pride and Prejudice was so much better. For one thing, something was actually going on! I'd rather watch Clueless, all in all.

Awchies.

Okay, so I do have internet access. Limited and from dad's PC, but it's there. Joy.

As much as I love skiing, I thought I was going to shoot myself today, not in a good way. It's too warm and snow is wet and horrible. On the plus side, bellyful of Gluehwein and hot cocoa with rum. ^_____^ Dropped dead as soon as we returned, because my feet hurt like crazy.

Family slays. As usual.

Bookity: I read Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin. It was freaky and nuts and everything. Also, because I was hunting for the movie for a long time, I had the vague idea what was going on (also, Supernatural? My cup of tea) and I wasn't really torn with suspence. I wonder if movie was better. :D

This year I resolve to read books. First book of the year I actually started right before Christmas, but only finished yesterday, so I'm making a note of it, to have something to begin with. Naturally, I suspect I will forget, sooner or later, but I do resolve to start. At least!

So: Lauren Weisberger, The Devil Wears Prada.

Four words: the movie was better )
