The Sky One "Hogfather" adaptation was quite fun. Not enough Death, but there can never be enough Death, and his face could have been a little more expressive, but hey, the Darth Vader impression was awesome. I was sold as soon as I saw (the tiny, goddamnit!!) bits with Death of Rats. Because they were perfect.

This is me spending too much time with contemplating the awesome potential of Vimes and Vetinari. Wrapped in a neat Gundam Package. :P

Christmas!

I have, once again, underestimated my family's talent for distraction. They are world-class champions.

Good news is: I do have all the doodles finished. Bad news: scanner unavailable until tomorrow. Badder news: tomorrow is Christmas Eve, which is for us the actual celebration. I should have enough time to post *crosses fingers* but just in case I don't, I wish all of you an awesome Christmas. Because aside from the obligatory mess everywhere, crowds, promotions, total lack of anything sacred etc, I love the holiday. It gives me the warm fuzzies and I hope you all feel it over the 25th and 26th.

On to the goodies! In no particular order:

Reinstalling my PC was pure hell. First off it wouldn't kick off the updating properly, so I reinstalled it again, and then went to download Service Pack 2 on another comp, burn it and then proceed to install it again. But, of course, I dlled SP2 in English, and it wouldn't run on my comp, cause of language clash. Le sigh. Luckily, it all went rather smoothly from there, apart from the Adobe Reader fiasco - for some reason AR and a tablet don't go well together. I tried to dll AR from the official site and my antivirus claimed it has malicious code in it. x.X Computer logic is not like out earth logic, methinks.

Speaking of logic. Can anyone prove that n^5 - n is divisible by 30? 2 is easy enough, 3, is as well, it's 5 that has me confused.

Oh, and on another completely random note: had this discussion with [livejournal.com profile] etiunis the other day, and I think we figured out the conceivable mathematics of a foursome (hee, Saiyuki fandom). Obviously, you don't want too many people on one pile, that's just a big fat mess, so you arrange them in pairs. For four people there are twelve possible couples (order counts!), which fit neatly into six days of the week (two couples per day). Sunday can be utilized by skipping to the next town. This also explains just why is the journey taking so damn long. ;P

Serious things stump me, they really do. *scratches head* Hope that turned out alright...

I don't quite understand how is it possible for a dentist to fit so much equipment into one patient's mouth. I mean, there's the sucking thing, the drill, often the mirror, the great big hoover, plus cotton pads and half the dentist's hand. Geez.

Still have to go today, curses.

The party yesterday was real nice! Got a cutest little plushie from friends, on account of not meeting them often enough. <3

*squints* Is this fluffy enough?

I'm off again, to a land of no intrawebs tomorrow. x.X I'd be lucky if I return without a nervous breakdown, for various reasons.

Anyway:

1+2 sketchiness )

And drabbly thingies: the first I believe I wrote for the "guess the writer" meme, for [livejournal.com profile] hostilecrayon. She guessed in a snap, so I suppose it is a totally me drabble. The other is a random bit of vacation for the boys. *grins*

I have an inane talent to DL movies with French subs. I did it with Saiyuki Requiem and now with FMA movie. *le sigh*

I wanted to say something, but as usual, when I have a nice long rant all laid out in my head, I manage to a/ resolve b/ forget c/ both it before I sit down and start typing. I sure hope no one ever does anything particularly harmful to me, cause I am just as capable of holding a grudge as I am of walking on water.

Hellfire, part 8. In which the nature of Hell is explained )

This would be the end, for real this time. Unless I've forgotten something. *ponders*

WOOOHOOO!! Saiyuki volume 3!!! Lovely surprise, thank you Waneko! Granted, I still have a bone to pick with you about the general aesthetics of the fonts and the minor issues of translation, but thank you anyways. <3

I love using religion in my fics. Even though I tend to scare people with my views, like I did with our captain during the sailing trip. I've had wine and then a beer (which speaks volumes, seeing as I cannot swallow a beer unless I'm drunk), and he was a good *fingers twitch* Catholic boy. *grins* I scared him good. I bet he was deathly afraid when the storm broke out later.

I'm not leaving you with that cliffie! Aren't you happy? I'll be disappearing for about a week tomorrow. *grins*

Hellfire, part 6. In which much is discussed )

edit: They are making His Dark Materials movies. The first is coming out in 2007, apparently. I wonder how much of the plot will be left, when they wash out the religious stuff to placate Hollywood.

If you need me, I'll be sulking in the corner.

The Promise is the mother of all bad movies. Except for Nicholas Tse, who was pretty, and psychopathic. He killed people with paper fans. Other than him though, the movie has nothing that makes it worth watching.

The Matador on the other hand, is funny without being embarrassing. It could use emphasis and punchline, but it's good.

Yes, I had a productive weekend, why do you ask? I went to Gdynia with Nasty Little Brat and we had quite a good time. We learned the recipe for a cool drink (Mohito! Rum, lime, mint, some water, tonic and cane sugar) and spent 24 hours on a train, in a span of four days. It was fun. ^___^

Okay! This is what I wanted to leave you with for the weekend, but I didn't manage to finish.

Hellfire, part 5. The end. )

I've been rewatching LotR today. I've ranted about how they screwed up the Army of the Dead thing in the extended edition, haven't I? I like the theatrical release much better. *sulks*

Anyway, since it seems to be a day for funnies. You've most likely seen it, but I'm slow on the uptake:
"They're taking the hobbits to Isengard!"
Easter Egg from TTT: Gollum gets the MTV movie award.

Hellfire, part 4. In which some questions are answered )
