Same ol'

Same old, same old. I got my first degree, but I don't really want to finish at that. I like being a student. On the other hand, I really feel the pressure to get a proper job. Parents pressure me to go out and study first of all, but I don't feel comfortable enough. I'm making no sense, and I'm being emo. X|

Finished it last night and overall liked it. Not as much as PoA, but no surprise there, but it was fun. Until I got to the final chapters. Boy, was the showdown boring.

VOLDEMORT: And now we shall duel to the death, so I can finally prove I am superior to a completely random teenager and therefore bury my insecurities.
HARRY: How about I just explain where you went wrong and then tell you what a bad person you are and how much I miss mum and dad and Sirius (seriously) and Lupin and Dumbledore and Fred (OMG TWINS WTF!!!!!) and Hedwig (Animal Rights still calling, BTW, I'll add that to your bill) and Dumbledore and George's ear and Dobby and did I mention Dumbledore?
VOLDEMORT: You know, death sounds good right about now.

As much as I didn't like Snape for most of the books (because he might have been tall, dark and brooding, but his attitude was outside my HAWT tolerance), I did start to like him a little more. Unrequited love I can understand (not that it was particularly shocking, but still a nice surprise that he felt that deeply). So yeah.

The epilogue... disappointed. Sounded like a bad fanfic. They all married and lived happily ever after. I was also hoping for some Revenge of the Muggles, maybe a little Return of Common Sense and just a dash of A New Order. Just saying. The epilogue only really showed that nothing changed, which bugged me a little since I wasn't a fan of the wizarding world in general.

Two things I loved, was Dudley in the beginning (wow, a Muggle with half a conscience! *iz shocked*) and Neville. Neville was made of win and awesome, and if someone knows a fanfic which is called something like Neville Longbottom and the DH/HBP/OotP/GoF/PoA/CoS/PS, I would love to read it.

I liked Hermione sending her parents to Australia. I thought Lupin's death was a little pointless although he is with Sirius now, so won't complain. I liked Draco being on nodding terms with Harry in the epilogue.

So, overall, that was a day well-spent. I have to say though, I'm glad it's finally over.

General update: for the commissions, I have six sketches ready to be coloured, I hope to finish at least half tomorrow and all of them before Thursday (leaving for a week Thursday night). Please poke me.

I need to apologise to anyone I promised a fic a while back. They will be written, but it might be a while. I am sorry for that. Coming up with one-shots is a hit and miss process for me, and I am focusing on the commissions and finishing ACB. Which is the final piece of news: ACB 15 is about 75% done.

*hugs you* Been there, done that. Got a job. (Teaching, FYI). I really wish I'd given myself the time to think about it more. Nothing compares to the joy of learning - nor to learning in an environment where it's valued. If you get the chance to stay on, grab it with both hands is my advice.

But if you don't, well, that's life. And there are lots of others way of being happy.

*nods* I want to learn. But at the same time, it's stressing me that I am still supported by parents. I'm pretty hopeless.

That's the right attitude. I intend to be very happy, degrees be damned. *grins* I figured I might as well go for part time, since I'm into arts anyway and those take like nine hours a week, but part time will be better scheduled.

I know!

What I did this year:

HARRY: Well, I filled my camping quota. I don't want to see a tent for as long as I live. I went sightseeing a lot.
NEVILLE: I pretty much organised the underground movement in Hogwarts, broke into Headmaster's office, taught students to fight properly, upholded morale and cut off Voldie's snake's head. With a sword. While Voldie was wearing the snake and my head was still smouldering.

Neville Longbottom and the Schoolyear of Doom, I say!

Yes. I was also contemplating another BA, but I can't afford it.
