Given the choice of reading a fascinating text on the anthropological basis of theory of culture and painting Castiel there's no guessing as to which will I chose. Seriously.




I'm very happy with how this turned out, seriously! It might not be a perfect likeness, but it wasn't supposed to be, and I adore the overall effect. <3 Why yes, I am awed by own skills. XD Used this screencap as a loose reference for the face.

Observation: Castiel is one of the characters in the history of ever to get the best fan-following to time spent on screen ratio, one other notable case being Kaworu Nagisa of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The fact that they're both, inhuman, have no concept of personal space (which directly affects the hero's comfort, may I add) as well as heralds of the upcoming Apocalypse is very, very curious.

I am doing NaNo this year, and so far the bunnies that's vying for being written are a/ the original I meant to write for ages, the vaguely fantasy one, involving an incarnated goddess and b/ SPN fic about the guy-who-later-was-Castiel. (b) is winning so far. It's younger and more tenacious. XD I'm registered as keiran121, in case anyone wants to buddy me there. ^______^

Thanks! I'm very happy with this image, it got where I wanted the painting to go, which is rare enough for me. ^_____^ Wings (and angels) make everything better, I find. XD

My guess would be yes. That, or he just got someone's soul and is contemplating how to consume it. :)

Wow. Your artwork is so powerful. You really know how to work shade, don't you? (I'm thinking back to your Sanzo in a doorway pic). It draws the eye in and somehow gives a strong sense of physical presence and power. *mightily impressed*
