It jut so pretty! The actual style is gorgeous, but the flesh tones are brilliantly contrasted and. I find the eyes the most impressive feature by far, though. And the machete made much more sense later on!!

XD There's something at the core, something that could made for a decent story, but the fact is that the most exciting paragraph is the brief summary of a side-character's back story. It is never mentioned again, naturally.

Date: 2009-07-19 06:29 pm (UTC)The romance idea is cute enough, but I couldn't help but be frustrated by the massive amounts of wasted potential. Vampire romance and it's just so unexciting! No one gets chased and almost eaten, there's no obvious threat for 75% of the story... I would have adored a book of Alice's backstory, you know the tiny paragraph in which it is said there was drama, psycho ward and tragedy. :( It didn't help that Bella is a whiny, judgemental bitch, plus I really dislike first person pov.

But yes, Alice is awesome, and I would love to know more about her. New Moon just took the angst of a teenage breakup too far for me, plus the whole breakup in the first place was so orchestrated to provide the angst... OMG, I'm not spoiling you, am I???
