The good news are many: no sooner had I complained about failing chemistry, than I got an A. Okay, it wasn't strictly due to my knowledge, as we have been marked on the ability to correctly guess what was in a vial we were assigned (it could contain either water or a mixture of one or two cations - mine were silver and manganese). Of course when I say guess, I meant the expectation was that we would proceed with a thorough examination via characteristic reagents for each group and element (we were allowed to use our notes). I mostly got lucky - silver requires only one test, one whose reagent is on top of the list, at that, and manganese is pretty obvious, too, as when you see violet it's likely manganese. So, correct guesswork gave me an A, but an A is an A.

There is also a small question mark on my test results, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up, so hush.

In other news, NaNo is progressing well. :)

Lastly, newest SPN WAS SO AWESOME USE OF CAPS IS FULLY JUSTIFIED. SCOOTERS AND TANDEM BICYCLE AND JAPANESE AND HA-HA GREY'S ANATOMY!

oh. i had one of those tests too.
i had something with a sulfate....if memory serves

while it does involve a bit of luck
(i remember having to go through a lot of tests, and i remember i had to think BRA - Blue to Red Acid for a litmus test *laughs*), it isnt all about luck.
one has to remember which tests does what....

Hahaha, The prof gave me a substance be it's powder or liquid. It's quite easy if the liquid was clear, but more often than not, he gave me a multicolours liquid and there's still residue on the bottom of the test tube. He ordered us to do a qualitative test to determine the element within. If possible, did a quantitative test later >_<

I am generally confused by chemistry, so there is a lot of running around on my part. Still, the colours are nice, and sometimes the patterns, too!

We won't be having quantitative tests until later. So far the qualitative are making my head hurt!

No, me neither. Though it does say something about Heaven, if one of their own has such a sense of humour. Episode still wins, because tandem bicycle, hee!!!

So far with chemistry I'm finding that flailing madly like a headless chicken works for me. That and a professional-like lab coat and intelligent "mhm, I concur". ^____^
