So, I am trudging through the Sherlock kink meme (which could give the vanilla plant a run for its money in terms of being vanilla), so clearly thinking about Sherlock, and the process went thusly: Sherlock-cheekbones-evil-mmm, cheekbones-waaaait a gosh darned minute...

And so


Mr Cumberbatch was genetically engineered to play Crowley, I kid you not! Such cheekbones couldn't be the work of a breeding accident. And Martin Freeman!Watson really is perfect for Aziraphal. :) Yes, I know character/actor confusion. No kidding. Still!

Am really proud of self here, because for once I started of with a legitimate pencil sketch, on actual paper, rather than tracing the outline of a photo. Used a reference, obviously, you know which one. :>


In short: please, please, BBC, while you're being awesome?

I don't know Good Omens at all, so I can't relate to the character. I probably should have said Martin Freeman instead. :-)

I'm just amazed at how well you were able to draw the actors. I'd have recognized them even if you hadn't labeled the picture.

And yes, that is a scrumptuous picture of the two of them together. I know what you mean about the slash writers for Sherlock being really tame compared to — well, most of the anime series, but it's kind of an adjustment (and a very OoC one at that) to even think of Holmes as a sexual being, period. The alternative is Holmes as a squik-fest of weirdness, which — I don't know how much I want to go there.

Depends on the adaptation, I find. This Sherlock absolutely is asexual, though I suppose I could buy him being flustered by something (like a murder) unexpectedly. Robert Downey Junior's Sherlock, however, was a sexual being, so no problem with that meme. :D

Robert Jr.'s was definitely sexual, but only superficially like Sir Arthur's. Cumberbatch's is back into that Pavlovian territory of "god, get me out of here" in response.

I took a shot at one of the prompts in the meme. *shrugs* It wasn't particularly conducive to fantasy, but what bothers me more about the kink meme, apart from the lack of 'zest' in the kinks, is the way so many of the prompts are practically all-written. Who wants to tackle writing a story someone has already laid out?

Cumberbatch is a magnificent Sherlock. I loved the RDJ movie, it was shippy as hell and just plain old fun, but Cumberbatch is just... wow. Mmmm, cheekbones. XD I know, I'm deep.

This is why I don't participate in kink memes, my bunnies usually take very specific and detailed forms, and kinks themselves play a minor part. XD

all the while watchign this i could be accused of fangirl heresy - i wanted John Sim to be Watson, I was looking at it going but you need to be John Sim!
just for that added capability and creepy, i don't believe martin freeman was a soldier, i can't see it in him!

I'm not entirely sure who John Sim is, to be honest, I did like Freeman's Watson. He's cute and clueless and at times you can see the soldier shining through, even if most of the time he doesn't let it show.
