I went and saw Snow White and the Huntsman and found it meh. Kristen Stewart was miscast, I think; she's very pretty, but she doesn't have the wide-eyed look of innocence the role needed. It doesn't help that every time I see her photo she looks like she was smelling something unpleasant. Better candidates for the role include Selena Gomez, Natalie Portman ten years ago, James McAvoy some ten years ago, Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Hemsworth right about now.

Fun fact, in light of the above: the huntsman's name is Eric. Kink meme noticed. :D

Charlize Theron rocks as the evil Queen of the Land of Ham.

Gah, I got the most awesome review for Their Mouths Always Lie and it made me feel bad, because it was glowing and lovely and created gooey feelings, and I feel like I can't possibly measure up to the glowing praise with the rest of it (it's finished, FYI, just needs editing, because it's been a while and I typically write dialogues with the barest hints of setting/staging, then fill in the gaps {though in this particular case I went above and beyond with the Talking Head Syndrome}. I like to think I'm getting better, but it's a process). ;_____; What do I do?

I agree. Kristen Stewart was definitely miscasted and Charlize Theron rocked. Other than that, the film left me feeling a little disappointed. I was looking forward to an awesome retelling, but it didn't quite get to that level. But, it was an enjoyable couple of hours, nevertheless!
