Firstly. I've just gotten back from watching 'Batman Begins'. Probably the best movie I've seen in a while. (Haven't seen Sin City, just so that people don't jump me). Christian Bale is just too perfect for the part - then again, I might be biased, cause I adore him, ever since 'Equilibrium'. Just my kind of movie, both of these.

Of course, it's Hollywood, so cheesy dialogue did happen, but I was pleasantly surprised at how the "romantic" plot unfolded. *thumbs up* Pity the girl won't be in the next movie, I liked her. She had spite.

Morgan Freeman rocked, but that is his default option, so no surprise there. Liam Neeson will forever be the Qui-Gon figure, no matter how evil he gets in the end. *grins* No, really good work here. He has that air of self assured tough guy, bent on saving the world. Good to see a villain who has someone else's interest in mind, taking over the world is horribly cliche.

The special effects or lack thereof - frankly, I am so impressed. Such a visual movie and such minimal CG. Deeply impressed with action scenes. Show exacty what needs to be shown, nothing more, nothing less. Was also deeply impressed with the fact that Batman spoke in a deep, breathy, sorry-bronchitis-calling way. Seems like someone finally remembered that yes, people can be recognised by their voice.

All in all - a very satisfying way to spend two and a half hours.

Oh yeah. I feel obliged to inform that I seem to have developed a serious Saiyuki fetish. And I mean serious. If someone gets a heart attack, cause there's not enough Duo around, you have [livejournal.com profile] yami_tai and [livejournal.com profile] regina_sama (major huggage) to blame. *grins*

She could have, that's true. But she was good, as far as obligatory-love-interests go, I thought. Then again, I'm not much of a comic person, so I don't know much about the characters and all.

I so totally agree. I thought it was great that we could see him training and preparing all of his cool toys. *grins* It adds so much to the character. Normal people are always more interesting when they go and kick ass seriously.

Oldman was great. *grins* Dr. Crane creeped me out. o__O He was so scary, especially with his girlishness. *grins*
