Lazy days are good. *stretches* Thought for some reason they never fail to give me a headache. Must be the sleep. Too much of it gets to me real fast.

Apparently something major happened on the main campus and the lecture centre is out of commission. I hope they won't be able to fix is before Wendesday. I really cannot be bothered to go to the lecture tomorrow. I have that assignment to finish and all... (yeah, riiiight).

Only a month and a half till I go home for Christmas! Yay!

From "Into the Light". Pencil and Photoshop. (finally got off my lazy ass and finished!)

Happy anniversary [livejournal.com profile] merula31 and [livejournal.com profile] darthliterate!!!

*grins* I would half-expect him to do so, in case the world ever did go off.

It might be. I am looking at it now, and thinking that he is a little too slim for his own head. *ponders* Need to pay more attention. *smacks forehead*

I discovered that plain pencil pictures are damn good. *nodnod* There's so much you can do with just grey!

*nodnod* sketches with pencils of different shades can be more real than pictures with colour - grey sketches feature in one of my latest fics. colour sometimes cartoonizes things. I love sketchy pics best, even more than watercolour... you know that red-goldish pic you drew of Heero and Duo? that had a sketchy quality to it, which contributed to the overall effect.

That's very true. Unfortunately. *hides*

It was made of an actual pencil sketch, while most of my stuff is first inked. It's a constant pain in my side, the fact that while my sketches look really good (I can sketch almost anything, and it will look good) the finished picture is merely nice. *sighs* Oh well. *gets down to practicing*

personally, I tend to leave my drawings in sketch form, because once I start defining the lines it ends up looking fake. >_< if you really want to ink the picture, but don't want to lose the sketch quality, have you tried using different thickness of black pens to go over the sketch lines? three common nib thickness are 0.7, 0.5 and 0.4, and I have a 0.38... or you could use one pen and vary the number of strokes.

no, no, I wasn't referring to your pictures when I mentioned the colour thing. colour does cartoonize things, but the way you pull it off is okay - you use shades, and not entirely block colours, and the overall effect is a good one. especially that gold-red picture, that was a brilliant example of good colouring. ^_^

I have a rapitograph, which is 0.18. I like it a lot, but the line thickness is one thing, I lack skill in the lineart department. It takes practice. x__X

Colour is a difficult thing to pull, nevertheless. Glad you think so. I really like how that picture turned out. ^___^

ack, that is one fine pen. o.O I'd be afraid of breaking the nib if I tried using that. well... practice, then. (:

*nodnod* I gave up working with colour. ^_^ glad you didn't...

What I'm really looking forward to, is getting a tablet. *fingers itching* I played with one a little at work and I can tell it helps. *nods*

Happy you think so. *beams* Maybe you reconsider?
