You know the "Flying Car" video everyone watched recently? This girl on ff.net thought it would make a hilarious Heero/Duo conversation. So she promptly wrote down everything that was said in the video and posted it as a story. *shakes head* She did have enough decency to mention she is not the author of the dialogue underneath, but what difference does it make?

Honestly. I mean, it's one thing to insert a copied dialogue as a tribute to the original author into a story, but this is plainly ridiculous.

Uni news: the Grand Narratives is probably the best module I've taken so far. Even the Bible is actually quite interesting, when considered as a literary text.

edit: I totally forgot - I made a bunch of Narnia icons, should anyone be interested.

Oh yeah. I should probably warn you all that there's a strongly implied 1xR happening in here. *hides* The title of the post is a coincidence, I swear!

Heero suddenly woke up in the middle of the night. The lack of windows in the estate made it difficult to estimate the time, but he suspected the midnight had already passed. He looked around, trying to pin-point what had woken him, not bothering to turn the lights on. Safety protocol dictated that in all underground dwellings non-invasive light must operate whenever the main lights are off, powered by independent generators, should the occupants ever need to locate the nearest exit in a hurry. In the dim, blueish light his gaze came to rest on the door, which was just being closed from the inside by Relena.

Soundlessly, she walked through the room and to his bed. She stopped directly in front of him, staring into his eyes with an unreadable expression. Heero returned her gaze, partly surprised and partly dazed. He noted she abandoned her knee-length skirt and neat blouse in favour of a flimsy, sleeveless nightgown. Endless questions plagued his mind, not the least of them being who Relena really was and what the hell did she want, yet somehow they didn’t seem to be of the articulate kind. Try as he might, he could not speak, could barely think in fact.

He blamed the sleepiness for his lack of reaction when her face slowly approached his. Before he could catch up to what was going on, the woman’s mouth was on his and all other thoughts and sensations melted away. For a long while, the outside world might as well have stopped existing, so lost was he in her warm body.

It was a muffled sound from the other room that brought him to his senses. He jerked up sharply, shaking off all traces of sleepiness, and pushed Relena to the side. She cried out as her back hit the wall.

“What are you doing?!”

“Didn’t you hear that?” he hissed back, angered. Adjusting the pyjama pants around his waist he strode to the door leading to his study, to Duo. Relena had other plans.

“What does it matter? He must be having a nightmare, we’re safe here!” Jumping off the bed she pressed herself against him. “Come back to bed. Duo’s okay. We’re a hundred feet underground. Nothing could happen to him.”

“Probably not,” he agreed but continued towards the door al the same.

“Heero!”

“Relena, be quiet.” He grabbed the doorknob firmly and pulled the door open, only slightly bothered by the noise. If Duo was having a nightmare, the sooner he was woken the better. If not – well, better be safe than sorry. As he stepped into the room his blood run cold. “Lights on,” he commanded sharply. The study became bright within a second but it did nothing to make the situation seem better.

Duo was gone. A trail of sheets marked the floor, punctuated by pillows.

“Fuck!” For a split second the officer stood motionless, considering the appropriate course of actions. Finally he moved – he located his boxers, t-shirt, jacket, socks, shoes and gun. His badge, in case he had to make someone swallow it. A knife.

He is alive, he told himself. He must be. No one would bother so much only to kill someone. Checking his magazine, Heero paused. He had faith in his security system. It wouldn’t have malfunctioned. Which meant, most likely, that whoever took Duo was let into the property.

Which meant that either his father gave access to a third party (remote, but possible – he was old, and his only son lived in New York City), or he was the one to let them in. For a brief second Heero thought of forcing Relena to give him some answers, but thought better of it. If Relena was involved, so was Jin.

Unless he was completely off the mark and the girl contrived the plot, using doctor Jin as a useful smokescreen. He almost snickered at the thought. Still, it was better to be safe than sorry. He snapped the magazine into place and tucked the gun into his pants.

“You will remain in the house. I will have a police squad come in here to search the premises.” Here he hesitated. Logic and duty dictated he ought to inform Une of the situation, wait for backup, report.

And hope whatever Duo was needed for wouldn’t damage him too badly.

“Fuck. I don’t have a choice, do I?” He snapped his cell phone open. Keeping an eye on Relena, though she seemed to be unwilling to cause trouble at the moment, he typed a quick message. ‘Duo gone. Going after him. Need backup. J.B. Jin probably involved.’ He pressed ‘send’ and stuffed the device into his pocket.

He was all set on leaving the room when the mobile beeped loudly.

“Unable to send the message? What the fuck?”

“We’re underground, in case you didn’t notice,” he heard Relena comment. She got off the bed and walked in his direction. “The only communication available here is the internet.”

“There’s a phone line-”

“Father had it uninstalled some time ago.”

“Father?” Heero felt his eyes open wide. Jin was Relena’s father?

“Of course,” she answered, cocking her head to the side, coming even closer. “We’re a family, Heero.” Once again he found he couldn’t concentrate on anything but the woman. She was filling his senses, annihilating the connections between his brain and his body, making it difficult to think. Like Duo had, that one time in the cab, only with Duo it felt overwhelming, not overpowering. It felt like going home after a long period of absence – so familiar, so dearly missed that the mind needed time to adjust to having it again.

“No,” he hissed, gripping her wrist and removing it from under his t-shirt. “Stop it.”

“Stop what? You want me, Heero. Don’t try and pretend you do not!”

“I don’t like what you’re doing to me,” he said, falling into his comfortable ‘step away from the corpse, ma’am’ mode.

“You cannot not like it!”

“Try me,” he answered, moving to leave the room. Relena grabbed him by the shoulder, her fingernails digging into his skin so hard he could feel them even through his jacket. Heero didn’t think how to respond. Years of combat training and subsequent hand-to-hand fights program the muscles to react quickly and efficiently, something which Relena failed to take into account. She only realised her mistake after Heero’s elbow connected with her stomach, but by then it was too late. She fell to the floor, her knees failing to support her.

“I’m sorry,” Heero said, stepping back a notch. “Gender equality is a bitch, isn’t it?” He cast one last glance at her, ready to walk out, when something on her back caught his attention. He brushed several strands of thick honey-blonde hair away from her shoulder blade and stared at the two neat digits, contrasting sharply with the pale skin.

Zero-one. Unconsciously he brought his hand to rub his chest. If Relena was Jin’s daughter, it shouldn’t be surprising that he signed her. But why 01? Why the same mark he was carrying?

“You will not leave this room,” he said, his voice steady. He stood up and walked out the door, his mind whirling. He barely remembered to close and lock the door behind him.

PS: Remember, they are not related by blood.

AaaaAAaaHHHhhhHHHH! He's gone @_@! [chews on her finger-nails] That's definitely not good. [prods Heero to hurry up and go find him faster] And so this Relena is evil after all o_O.

*pets* Heero will rescue Duo, I'm sure he will. As for Relena - she's not entirely evil, if it helps any. *huggles*
