I saw Midsummer Night's Dream. OMG, it was So Good. Oberon was total eye-candy, Puck rocked and Drumknott (copyright TP) played the Master of the Revels! Granted, he also played one of the fairies, but it was so cool nevertheless. Decorations were really good too, fitted the scene perfectly. Hermia was a tad old, I thought, but she was really good. All feisty and spirited. They geared the whole thing towards humour rather than a love story and that was a splendid choice. Bottom just about killed the audience every time he appeared, so did Puck, but the absolute perfect moment happened when Oberon finishes his monologue and hears a commotion. Demetrius and Helena walk onto the stage, and Oberon, who is very tall and generally hard to miss (white hair, leather pants and a glittering chest) stands to the side, in their path, crosses his arms and announces, in a booming voice, "I am invisible".

My point being - if you happen to be in London, this is a show you don't want to miss.

I probably should have spent more time on sketching out the face and definitely the hair. But, it was mainly just a try to see if I can. ^___^ I think I do. It didn't take me all that long either. I started scribbling yesterday evening (and half the night) and then again today, after I got back from work.

Oh, and I finally discovered what's the deal with SouthWest trains. They are a part of a conspiracy designed to make me buy a car. Speaking of SWTrains. They inspired this little thing:

INT. SOUTH-WEST TRAINS OFFICE – DAY.

LENNY staring at a computer screen intently. The clock on the wall behind him is set on 8.18. The calendar on the wall shows clearly that it is a Sunday. Enter BRAD with a sheet of paper in his hand.

BRAD

Hey, it seems that he replacement bus service can’t make it to Egham.

LENNY

(absent-minded)

Yeah?

BRAD

The 8.19 bus. The driver overslept, didn’t appear in Eton and so the bus will not make it to Egham.

LENNY

Good heavens! 8.19! it’s far too early to be out of bed on a Sunday morning! It’s only natural the chap overslept.

BRAD

But suppose there’s people waiting?

LENNY

They’re gonna find out, no?

BRAD

I suppose. Still, you reckon we should let the staff know?

LENNY

Right, whatever.

Brief silence.

LENNY

Oh damn! What is the immortality code again?

BRAD

For Doom II? ‘I R invincible’ I think. How far did you get?

BRAD stands behind LENNY and looks over his shoulder.

BRAD

You know, if you take a left here, there’s a hidden medical pack.

LENNY

Really? But there’s a wall in here…

The camera zooms in on the clock and focuses. It now shows 8.20. Fade to black.

Oo! Lovely fairy! I love the colors- and her eyes! Wow!

I saw a production of Midsummer once out here that I still remember- they did such a good job- and the stage was a copy of the Globe... so very cool. I do love that play!

^___^ Thank you. I am rather happy with the results.

It is such a good play, isn't it? All funny and not too serious and romantic and fantasy...
