CRAZY!!

There is an empty field, covered by weeds and what not, between our house and a gas station. Apparently they are planning to build a block or two there, which I don't much care about - hey, more cover when the gas tank blows up. So, a couple of weeks ago they dumped a huge hill of dirt in the middle. Now they've come around with a digger and a couple of trucks and they're moving it all away. And they picked the day when it's raining cats and dogs. You can't make it up, really.

Effort has been made to resurrect my old lappie, but it's persistently refusing to co-operate. The battery is dead like a dead thing still. Luckily, the rest works, except for the wi-fi.

I had a really bizarre dream last night. There was a story in it, I'm sure, but I can't quite remember what it was. I know an Armageddon happened, over a few days, and me and a bunch of people I didn't really recognise were running around like headless chickens. I'm fairly sure one of the people turned out to be the Antichrist, because he was wandering about being evil and manipulating people into really scary situations. And raising the undead, apparently, because there was a zombie (one), who was a decent bloke in the end, if a little grey. I dream the craziest shit, seriously.

The caffeine meme, because it amused me.( Took it three times, touchpad, mouse and tablet )

If this be the winter of our content, it ought to have snow.

This is one thing I dislike about the UK. It has no snow. Or at least not in aesthetically pleasing amounts. Granted, having to move a cubical meter of frozen snow is not fun after a while, but damn, is the stuff pretty!

Well, before it gets driven over/stepped into/run through/melted/otherwise ruined.

At least it's pretty when it falls, in the middle of the night, so quiet and soft and sparkling...

And freezing, granted. But I get cold here too (in my room even), only without the added eye-pleasing bonus.

I'm so sorry for not leaving a sign of life for the past few week. Been away skiing (*sighs* all of sudden I suck at it) and packing for the trip back to London, then Monday and today was finishing off (read: writing) three assignments I've managed to ignore over Christmas. Almost done now. *yawns*

Resolution for the year: become organised. Lose weight. Fly to the Moon. Come in possession of GW copyrights. You know, the usual. *grins*

Stuff.

First, a meme. chyna_rose23 tagged me.

The Rule: The first player of this 'game' starts with "Five Quirky Habits of Yourself" and the people tagged next need to then write a LJ entry about their five quirky little habits as well as state the rules clearly. Lastly, you'll need to list the next five people who you want to tag.

Um. I don't like tagging people specifically, so pleeeeeaaaase do it? *puppy eyes*

Uni complaints follow.

First off, I seriously think my grades are too good. No, really. I listen to what my friends do, and most of them angst, study, worry and study some more. They start their essays two weeks in advance, they spend days preparing for exams, they work for their marks. Me? It's highly unusual if I start an essay four days before it's due. I practically ignore the exams. And in the end, while I don't pass with flying colours, I'm far from getting bare 'PASS' marks.

I think I need to drop English and start studying math again.

Second: this is actually amusing. I picked up my Creative Writing assignment yesterday. It was a fantasy some 2,000 words piece, including a Catholic priest and an elven tax officer. My feedback sheet was completely unhelpful. All I could actually use was "Some technical errors", but that's beside the point. What it said was: "a creditable effort for a 2nd language learner". Now, let me quote the module handbook: "All coursework and formally invigilated examinations are marked anonymously." Hm. I sense a slight d'oh here.

I realise this is partly my fault, for forgetting to add my student number to the submission, but the principle stands. He could have been less obvious about it.

Random Ending Note no 1. My printer ate up all of the black ink. My coursework (due tomorrow) is purely cyan. *shrugs* What-Ever.

Random Ending Note no 2. What does a girl have to do to get some decent feedback from a tutor? I mean honestly, you get paid to give feedback. And I know what I wrote about, no need to summarise it for me. I want to know what wasn't there, so that I can get an A next time!

1. Tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. I could eat them in heaps!
2. Walking around in stormy weather.

Seen I, Robot today. A nice movie, I'll say. Could use a little more subtlety, but am not complaining much. I liked it, overall. Anyway.

Now, if you're into Powerpuff Girls and Cartoon Network stuff in general, here's something you do not want to miss. Going through the doujin is a bit of a pain, since it's deviantART, but it is worth it. Go to gallery and change browse setting to 'oldest first'.

Every person on your f-list gets to request a ficlet from you. In return, they have to should post this in their journal and write a ficlet for you. Post all fandoms you're willing to write for. Your friends can pick a relationship, a story arc, a missing scene, commentary! Or pretty much anything they want, unless the author has previously mentioned that they will not write it.
